A quick look inside the January U.S.A. training camp roster

Bob Bradley and U.S.S.F. recently released the roster for the upcoming January training camp that has proven to be a very important part of player development for the national team pool in recent years. This years crop follows the same guidelines as previous editions, MLS and Scandanavian players, and should be a good opportunity for many of the players invited. Check out this link to see the full roster.

Of the players invited, Alejandro Bedoya, Robbie Findley, Marcus Tracy and Kyle Beckerman have the best chance of rising up the ranks and making the World Cup roster due to either need or talent. Beckerman and Bedoya are both players who have had great years with their clubs and are both players who are talented enough to push the players above them on the depth chart. Tracy and Findley, while talented, both are speedy forwards who could potentially fill the void left by the injured Charlie Davies. I really wouldn't consider either of these two players as viable options if it wasn't for the lack of a speedy striker but after seeing how Davies speed impacted the offense it became clear that a player in his mold is needed. Tracy and Findley are both young players who are coming off of strong years and who should be incredibly hungry coming in to this camp.

This is the last chance for most of the players at this camp to prove that they belong on the World Cup roster and their should be a sense of urgency that usually does not exist at a training session in January. There are other players who could make an impact such as Omar Gonzalez, Sacha Kljestan, Geoff Cameron and Chris Pontius. Whether for this year or next, this is a great chance for every single player who will be taking part at the Home Depot Center.
